How many people are in your competition? Now the first thing a manager sees

The question a manager asks most often in the first week of a competition is the simplest one: how many people have signed up so far? Until now the answer was hidden inside a long member list that only showed on a desktop browser, skipped anonymous competitions entirely, and counted only the people who had already synced their steps. If you opened the app on your phone on day two, you had no number at all.

Now the headcount is the first card on every competition you manage.

Two numbers, one glance

  • Participants is everyone who accepted the rules and joined the competition, whatever happened to them since. This is the number you report to HR and the number that tells you whether the launch email worked.
  • Have logged steps so far is the part of that group that has already scored at least one point. The gap between the two is your to-do list: people who joined but have not connected a step source or opened the app since.

Everywhere you manage a competition

The card does not care how the competition is set up. It shows on anonymous competitions, where the member list is hidden on purpose, and it shows in the mobile app, where the detailed list is left out to keep the page light. It also stays fast on large competitions: it asks the server for two counts, never for the members themselves, so a competition with a thousand people opens as quickly as one with ten.

Who can see it

Managers of any organisation the competition belongs to, and platform admins. A manager of a different organisation gets nothing, exactly as with the rest of the competition page.
