Wellness Calendar: your Google Calendar now holds space for a walk, a breath, and a real connection

Most calendars are full of meetings, deadlines, and travel. Wellbeing rarely gets a slot β not because people do not care, but because the day fills itself before anyone notices.
We built Wellness Calendar so STEPathON can put movement and recovery back on the same timeline as work.
What it does
When you connect your personal Google Calendar, STEPathON looks at when you are free during the workday and automatically creates up to three short events:
- A 20-minute walk β opens into your daily steps in the app
- A breathing break β a few minutes to reset
- A social connection moment β a nudge to reach someone, not just another task
Events are titled clearly and marked with Β· STEPathON, so you always know which blocks came from us. Each description includes a deep link that opens the matching activity in STEPathON.
Designed to respect your day
This is not another noisy reminder stream. The scheduler:
- Reads free/busy across your calendars so it does not double-book
- Creates events only on your primary calendar
- Skips quiet hours (21:00β08:00 in your calendar timezone)
- Runs on weekdays only
- Caps at three wellness blocks per day, preferring walk β breathing β social when space is tight
Connect once, and we fill what is left of today. After that, we plan the next weekday in the morning so tomorrow already has room to move.
How to try it
- Open STEPathON and go to Profile β Wellness Calendar
- Tap Connect and grant Google Calendar access (free/busy + create events)
- Check your primary Google Calendar for events ending in Β· STEPathON
- Tap an event description to jump straight into the activity in the app
You can disconnect anytime. Your existing calendar events stay where they are β we simply stop creating new ones.
Why this matters for teams
Step competitions and challenges work best when people can actually protect small windows to move. Putting those windows on Google Calendar makes wellbeing visible next to standups and deadlines β for individuals first, and for the culture that follows when the whole team starts seeing the same pattern.
Wellness should not wait for a free evening. It should fit into the day you already have.
